Better Days 03:47
Well done you got through the hardest part of learning You saved up paid off your worried heart so rest easy Stuck in contemplation You're cursing at the telephone You question your condition when you're all alone Slow down Rain clouds They don't count After all, all you know is lightning sounds Slow down We can turn it around Take your time find your way to better days To better days Your dark nights We'll try to change them into blue skies Stuck in contemplation Cursing at the telephone You question your condition When you're all alone Slow down Rain clouds They don't count After all, all you know is lightning sounds Slow down We can turn it around Take your time find your way to better days To better days

Sit Still 03:05
Homesick for a home I don’t have What a shame I didn’t fit in cause I don’t look like them I was trying and trying to crawl out of my skin I was livin with my parents Sleeping in that car Trying to plant roots in a concrete floor Waking up in cities I’ve never heard of before And I’ve been thinkin Old me Left my heart in Missouri Never felt this alive and For the first time in my life I need a minute to breathe in Slowly Left the pine for the palm trees Never felt this alive and For the first time in my life I’ve been dying to sit still Snuck out for the homecoming crown Didn’t give a damn if I win knew I’d never see them again Looking back I wouldn’t do it any different Built too many glass ceilings I’m responsible for Died upon that hill of letting no one close Changing all the ways I’ve behaved before Running through the fields and And I’ve been thinking Old me Left my heart in Missouri Never felt this alive and For the first time in my life I need a minute to breathe in Slowly Left the pine for the palm trees Never felt this alive and For the first time in my life I’ve been dying to sit still I took another trip around the Sun And watch traffic go by Old me Left my heart in Missouri Never felt this alive and For the first time in my life I need a minute to breathe in

Where’s your passion? We haven’t seen you laughing lately You’ve heard it all before I’m feeling nothing They didn’t love me back then old news I’ve heard it all before Oh So I stay around, I stay around and they’ll keep on wondering why I stay sad Oh why are you sad I’ve got my old beat up car The way my mama always told me don’t be going too far and end up farther away I’ve got my old beat up car The way my karma always showed me to look for my North Star it’s never farther away I need a second Please no more questions - like did it happen? Oh why did you leave no your small town behind? Are you feeling fine? Oh everything’s fine! Oh So I stay around, I stay around and they’ll keep on wondering why I stay sad Oh why are you sad I’ve got my old beat up car The way my mama always told me don’t be going too far and end up farther away I’ve got my old beat up car The way my karma always showed me to look for my North Star it’s never farther away

Panic in the air So I hold my breath Death is like the stairs When you miss a step Trippin over words Couldn't find em Never really dared Always on the fence Now I now I know why And I’m sick and tired of the waiting Crazy got us out feeling selfish tonight Crazy's what it means to be alive So let the circus run wild Crazy got us out got us riding the high Crazy’s got us blurring all the lines, the lines oh This is the time our time oh Have you seen the world? If you haven’t yet Some are chasing the feeling of what they cant forget For what you never knows a silverlining Life is better shared even when you’re scared Now I now I know why And I’m sick and tired of the waiting Crazy got us out feeling selfish tonight Crazy's what it means to be alive So let the circus run wild Crazy got us out got us riding the high Crazy’s got us blurring all the lines, the lines oh This is the time our time oh

Still Young 03:04
Who cares if the tensions on Brush it off pay no attention None to the dogs not a second None not at all none not at all One shot at adulthood Don’t mess it up you swore you never would Oh lighten up it’s in your attitude I know your tough but whatcha tryna Prove Right now you're still young Save up your money Waste it on a pack of cigarettes cause ya don’t have long What are you doing? Couldn't get what you want so you go to the bars and the night goes on Last night on the defensive You pick a fight I’m not against it Free your mind no consequences Just take a dive into the trenches Another time another person Go through it all go through it all Right now you're still Young Save up your money Waste it on a pack of cigarettes cause ya don’t have long What are you doing? Couldn't get what you want so you go to the bars and the night goes on Save up your money Waste it on another party Cause ya don’t have long What are you doing ? Couldn't get what you want so you go to the bars and the night goes on

Remember that you came from the same place Same rank I thought you grew up Remembering the old days Always pains me like a paper cut Now you wanna play games complicate things cause you think it’s fun You can either stay here or get lost cause i don’t give a **** Don't you cave in to the madness cause it’s so damn easy Everybody let you down woah Red brick chasin coward no sweat on your brow Makes me wanna shout Ohh You’re Never getting close to me again If I’m so bitter then you’re a so called friend Ohh You’re using my heart my love is spent Yeah I’m so bitter and you're a so called friend Hit the ground running funny how you prey on confidence Gaslighting villain always reeling Ha what's your defense? I've been getting anxious lately from you always ending things How ya gonna treat me leave me broken playing on repeat Don't you cave in to the madness cause it’s so damn easy Everybody let you down woah Red brick chasin coward no sweat on your brow Makes me wanna shout Ohh You’re Never getting close to me again If I’m so bitter then you’re a so called friend Ohh You’re using my heart my love is spent Yeah I’m so bitter and you're a so called frien

Summer 03:25
Burnt-out Grown up We changed Somehow Our world Turned gray Today, Today won’t be the same We can leave Missouri Last call better hurry Life’s been kinda shit right up on my shit about to hit a cliff Summers gotta come Tell me where the summers at You take a full I take a half I feel the color coming back Cash out Come by My place Small town It’s not too late Today, Today won’t be the same We can leave Missouri Last call better hurry Life’s been kinda shit right up on my shit about to hit a cliff Summers gotta come Tell me where the summers at You take a full I take a half I feel the color coming back I feel the color coming back I’m gone, been waiting way too long Summers gotta come Tell me where the summers at You take a full I take a half I feel the color coming back

Flowers 02:27
There’s a war growing in my mind I’m not the same since you left my side Forever is a long time Heaven smiles on me everyday It’s your guidance that keeps me safe And I know That Kansas City kept you busy Should’ve brought you right here with me Dying flowers are still pretty Don’t you know Oh I miss you so There are moments I want to share The front row should have had you there Forever is a long time I remember how you made me laugh You always found all the good in bad And I know That Kansas City kept you busy Should’ve brought you right here with me Dying flowers are still pretty Don’t you know This is letting go

Crash 03:22
Don’t you find it strange (I think about it at night) We’re gonna die with age (What is the meaning of life?) I’m concerned with change, But there’s no use in staying I took a left turn a way to get heard But when will I learn to have some faith with this empty place All that I plan won’t save me at all, I’m trusting the fall I’ll make mistakes that won’t go to waste That won’t go to waste Once you find your space (I think about it at night) All of your cries will fade (What is the meaning of life?) I took a left turn a way to get heard But when will I learn to have some faith with this empty place All that I plan won’t save me at all, I’m trusting the fall I’ll make mistakes that won’t go to waste That won’t go to waste

Counting all the stars that guide us Til I’m back in your arms Crossing through the waves to find a way to get back home Send my words across the ocean until they reach your time zone Let them keep you warm like a jacket for your bones Aaah, ahh So stay close by (stay close by) Darling I’m always there with you Don’t you cry (don’t you cry) Cause you know I’ll be there soon… Soon… The seasons come and go but always know the sun will rise And when you’re feeling low I hope you hold onto the light Sail my way across the ocean until I reach your shores Counting down the hours as I’m swimming to your door Aah, aah So stay close by (stay close by) Darling I’m always there with you Don’t you cry (don’t you cry) Cause you know I’ll be there soon… Soon… So stay close by (stay close by) Darling I’m always there with you Don’t you cry (don’t you cry) Cause you know I’ll be there soon… Soon…

about

The artist’s 11-song full length debut arriving early next year chronicles Dolly’s journey growing up in Missouri and finding her voice after the death of her mother. The album is a coming of age story touching on personal growth topics including finding hope in even the darkest of times.

“During the songwriting process I learned I could write more upbeat and hopeful music, which contrasts the themes in my previous E.P.,” explains Dolly Ave. “I wanted to write an album that would help me move beyond specific personal problems like heartbreak. In the process, I learned a lot about discovering my sound which mixes indie pop and punk influences from my youth.
